Why not just use a free beta reader or ARC swap?

"Beta reading" and "ARC reading" get used loosely across the writing community - usually meaning a free copy in return for a review or feedback: someone gives their informal impression, whenever they get around to it, with no guaranteed depth and no formal obligation around turnaround. 

What I deliver is a different category of thing entirely:

• A full, complete read. Not a skim, not a partial read, not feedback based on the first few chapters.

• A written Report, grounded in genre expertise - not a casual opinion. My feedback is my opinion - that's the actual value, since I specialise specifically in dark romance, dark fantasy, dystopian, psychological, mental health representation, neurodivergent representation, horror and gothic fiction. Basically if your book is in a dark genre category I am your target. • Actionable recommendations, not vague impressions. Specific, tailored guidance you can actually apply - not "I liked it, no notes."

• A formal, individually signed confidentiality agreement - not just a good-faith understanding. In a typical free ARC or beta exchange, you're trusting a reader to keep your manuscript private and only use excerpts for review or promotion - and most readers genuinely honour that. What I offer is that same principle, written into a Service Agreement specific to your book, with real accountability behind it, rather than relying on a general community norm.
